F3. What you need to know about Provision 29 of the Corporate Governance Code – how can you prepare?

      Foundation

The revised Provision 29 the 2024 Corporate Governance Code is reshaping governance reporting in the UK. Effective since 1 January 2026, it introduced an additional requirement for the board to provide a declaration of the effectiveness of the company’s material controls. It calls for the board to monitor the company’s risk management and internal control framework and, at least annually, carry out a review of its effectiveness. The monitoring and review should cover all material controls, including financial, operational, reporting and compliance controls.

This will be an interaction session open to questions and discussion, giving the background to why Provision 29 was introduced, as well as sharing examples of good practice of how organisations have been adapting to comply.

F5. From Fragmented to Frictionless: How Leading Organisations Use Technology to Transform Risk & Insurance

      Foundation

Risk and insurance programmes are under pressure. Fragmented data, regulatory complexity, and disconnected systems are creating friction, slowing decisions, and limiting visibility.

Leading organisations are responding with a technology-driven, integrated approach – connecting risk, insurance, and compliance into one ecosystem.

In this educational session, Origami Risk shows how modern platforms unify data, automate compliance, streamline workflows, and deliver real-time insight across the organisation. Through real-world examples, you’ll see how integrated technology reduces friction, improves collaboration, and creates a single source of truth.

      You’ll leave with:
      – A clear view of why traditional approaches fall short in complex environments
      – How AI, automation, analytics, and workflow orchestration reduce cost and complexity
      – What best-in-class, technology-enabled risk and insurance looks like
      – A practical insight into building a scalable, future-ready risk and insurance ecosystem

      Breakfast

This presentation explores why post-quantum readiness is no longer just a technical consideration, but a growing business imperative. It outlines how quantum computing could undermine today’s cryptographic protections, why this creates governance, operational, and reputational risks for organisations, and why early preparation is both more practical and more cost-effective than delay. It also highlights how leadership teams can begin building resilience now through structured planning, awareness, and strategic action.

      Insight and Foresight

With the threat landscape and regulatory landscape evolving at an ever-increasing pace, organisations face a continual challenge when it comes to cyber risk management. Many organisations are now captured under multiple legal and regulatory frameworks concurrently, with boards and senior management finding themselves being held accountable to new standards and obligations. This expert panel will explore how organisations can execute and implement effective cyber risk management strategies, and how pre-incident preparedness is becoming evermore interconnected with post-incident scrutiny from the regulators. Attendees will leave with practical and actionable insights to consider as part of their own cyber risk management programme, as well as hearing firsthand what to expect when engaging with a regulator following a cyber incident, or in regard to cyber risk more generally.

      Insight and Foresight

When Airmic members contract insurance, they are placing their trust in the claims experience. Increasingly, claims is emerging as a strategic service, playing a central role in delivering value through insight, expertise and more proactive support when things go wrong. With clearer pathways and greater accessibility, the claims function is becoming more visible and embedded in the client relationship. At the same time, growing complexity driven by new and evolving risks across industries is elevating its importance as a source of guidance and resilience. This panel will explore how claims can continue to evolve, shaping better outcomes and redefining what clients expect from their claims partners.

IF11. Closing the Protection Gap: How Insurance can Evolve for an Evolving Risk Landscape (Advanced)

      Insight and Foresight

The insurance industry is confronting a widening protection gap, as organisations around the world face an unprecedented convergence of emerging risks — climate change, cyber threats, geopolitical instability and artificial intelligence — that are creating exposures which existing products, distribution channels and capital structures may not fully address. From the buyer’s perspective, the structure of the insurance market creates coverage that is fragmented and difficult to navigate.

This session will feature the launch of a paper, produced jointly by the IUA and Airmic with contributions from KPMG, that will put forward recommendations for the market in closing today’s protection gaps, in the face of emerging risks and evolving insurance solutions.

IF12. How to Make Technology Work for Risk and Resilience: The 2026 Airmic Risk Technology Survey (Advanced)

      Insight and Foresight

The risk technology landscape is maturing, but unevenly. Organisations may have sophisticated tools and genuine investment appetite, but are grappling with persistent gaps in integration, data quality and internal capability. With AI moving from aspiration to early-stage deployment, and growing pressure to demonstrate tangible returns on investment, the focus is shifting to the harder work of embedding technology into risk decisions. Are risk leaders getting meaningful value from the technology tools they have?

This session will unpack the headline findings of the 2026 Airmic risk technology survey. With investment priorities sharpening around analytics, automation and governance, we will examine whether organisations are advancing their risk technology capability or are cycling through the same barriers.

      Bridging the Gulf

      Plenary

The joint American-Israeli operation in the Persian Gulf took the world by surprise when it was launched in February 2026. After continuing at various levels of intensity for over four months the Strait of Hormuz remains disrupted, causing ripple effects through the global economy.  Minds are now clearly focused on an agreement that could end the fighting and unblock this vital artery. There is considerable disagreement, however, about what such an agreement would look like, what would follow it, and regardless of its shape, the extent to which the region’s investment environment has been fundamentally changed.

Join Airmic’s Alexander Frost and Christopher Coppock, Head of Geopolitical & Economic Risk Analysis at Marsh Credit Specialties, to discuss key questions around the war, the future of the Middle East and what it all means for Airmic’s members.
